Kicking balls

Week 17. The Azkals football team could have contributed to the renewed enthusiasm of  Filipinos to Football that set ablaze the youths' active participation to the sport. There are odds to football that shared to the lackluster interest of the people to the game even at the time of the Azkals' phenomenon. First is the large area requirement which, unlike the more popular basketball. Second is only few matches and tournaments conducted throughout the year, as compared to other sports . Thanks to sponsorship from Suzuki Philippines, Inc. (SPH) - the same organizer of the most celebrated ASEAN Football Federation Suzuki Cup. - together with the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) brought the under 23 National Cup to key cities in the country as part of its National Football Grassroots Development Program.  Yannick Tuason, Tagum City's homegrown football hero who now played for the Azkals was once a product of the program. The search continues to discover a pool of talented booters and develop future football heroes for the Philippines.

Aim for the goal.
Kick that ball.
Draw the line.
What's the game plan?


The big splash.
